Houston, We Have a Problem

Today on the way home from Girl Scouts, I was probing Lucy about what she wanted for Christmas (people have begun to ask). She said, “Well, I do have a Santa list, but the thing I really want is something only he can get me because they don’t have it at the mall or it’s probably too expensive for anyone to buy me.”

“What is it?”

“MOM, you KNOW, it’s that flying machine I’ve been asking for. The space shuttle?!!”

“Oh.”

Do you have a clue what it is or where it is? Maybe Santa can find it. LOL Santa always comes through.

We had a similar (but slightly less expensive) conversation today when Sophie was looking through one of the four “mazagines” that arrived featuring toys today. She was pointing at some dumb plastic-y thing asking me what it was called and how to spell it. I told her, but added, “I don’t know, kid. That’s really expensive!” Her response: “I know! That’s why I’m asking Santa for it!!” Duh.

Have you figured it out yet? Sunday you told me the “real thing” — shuttle. Surely by now, you have some idea of what she really expects.

    LOL
